Let me tell you about
The New Life Lake Park Family.
The first public worship service was held on Sunday, January 4, 1987, at 3:00 p.m. at the KOA Campground located off I-75 under the leadership of Pastor L. A. Joiner.
In September 1993 Keith Allsbrook became interim pastor upon resignation of former Pastor David Fiveash. Jim Benton and Karl Wassmuth accepted leadership positions and were appointed to the Board of Directors. Pastor Keith Allsbrook was ordained as pastor.
The Church property on Zeigler Road was purchased in August 1997. The property consists of 16 acres with two fish ponds. The property is located just off I-75 at Exit 2. The church has enjoyed many bonfires, cook-outs, picnics, camp-outs over the years on this beautiful property the Lord has given us. There are huge oak trees located on the property which have become known as the “Oaks of Righteousness”. Many prayers have been offered up from this property.
Pastor Keith Allsbrook announced in September 2004 the first phase of planning for construction of a church building on the church property within the next year including completion of blueprints, obtaining estimates for construction, and completion of site plans.
The Ground Breaking Service for new sanctuary and picnic was held on Sunday, March 12, 2006, at the church property on Zeigler Road property. Construction began during the same week of the groundbreaking and continued until completion of the building in February 2007.
The first church service was held in the new building on Sunday, February 25, 2007. Some of the regular members in attendance at that meeting were: Pastor Keith and Judy Allsbrook; Jason and Sheila Keeffe; Mr. Pick and Vi Pickles along with Ms. Vi’s sister, Florine Cope from Perry, Florida; Jim and Linda Lester; Jeff and Felicia Frazier; Mark and Tami Nichols; Remer and Amy Drew; Daniel and Joyce Maxwell; Van and Kim Hendricks; Keith and Joyce Brannan; Becky Dalzotto; Leah Lynch; Dawn Higgins.
The men of New Life Lake Park are a close knit group of men who serve the Lord, their Church, their Families and the Community. The men maintain the church building and church grounds, help with organization of all Church Family activities. They host Men’s Day on Father’s Day, head up the Tailgate Sunday Cookout each year, assist with all fundraising events when needed, pray continually for Pastor Keith and the leadership teams of New Life. Our men are loving and caring men who work as unto the Lord and are an integral part of the New Life Family. We welcome and encourage all men to come and get to know us. We’d love to get to know you at New Life Lake Park!
The Women’s Ministry:
New Life has a very giving and caring group of women who are very committed to the ministry of Hospitality and Service. We are always available to help and serve our New Life Family members and the Lake Park community when needed throughout the year. We do not have a set monthly meeting but stay in touch with each other to provide prayer for our members, friends and community; we provide meals to families in times of sickness or deaths. Our goal is to meet ministry needs wherever and whenever we are needed.
Fellowship Meals are planned throughout the year on various occasions such as Resurrection Sunday, Thanksgiving and Christmas in addition to quarterly Family Night Dinners. The Annual Christmas Cookie Swap is a time of reflecting over what the Lord has done during the past year and preparing for what He has for us in the New Year.
Birthdays of our members are recognized each Month of the year with sharing a Birthday Cake and time of fellowship together in the Hospitality Room following the morning service. We are currently participating in the “Siesta Scripture Memory Team 2015”. The Ladies of New Life welcome you and would love to have you join us in serving the needs of our friends and neighbors.
